Nigeria’s oil and gas industry commanded global attention at the 2026 Offshore Technology Conference – OTC in Houston, where Solewant Group showcased its latest technological advancements to a diverse audience of energy professionals from over 100 countries.

Under the theme ‘Steering offshore energy innovation into the future,’ the conference served as a vital platform for technical exchange and dealmaking. Solewant Group, a global leader in steel pipe and coating solutions, maintained a significant presence within the Nigeria Pavilion, highlighting its evolution from a service provider to an orchestrator of a fully integrated industrial ecosystem.

A major highlight of the group’s presentation was the success of its state-of-the-art pipe bend coating plant in Rivers State, which was commissioned in July 2025. Dr. Felix Onyela, General Manager of Marketing and Sales, explained how the company addressed a long-standing industry challenge: protecting irregularly shaped pipeline fittings with multi-layer coating systems.

By collaborating with Euro-American partners, Solewant developed a facility that deploys precision coating technology, effectively reducing maintenance costs and preventing environmental damage caused by leaks and corrosion for major clients like NNPC.

The Group further detailed its expansive industrial park in Alode/Onne, which currently houses several specialized subsidiaries. These include Solewant Nigeria Limited – SNL, Africa’s largest multi-layer pipe coating facility, and the Solewant Energy Training Institute – SETI, which provides industry-focused certification for the African workforce.

During the summit, the company also provided a progress update on the SSPC Automated Specialty coating and paints manufacturing factory, an ongoing project slated for completion and commissioning in July 2026.

The Nigerian Pavilion was officially opened by the Commission Chief Executive of the NUPRC, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, who noted a surge in investor confidence. She revealed that nearly 300 applicants are currently competing for 50 oil blocks in Nigeria’s 2025 licensing round, a success attributed to regulatory reforms under the Petroleum Industry Act – PIA.

Meanwhile, PETAN Chairman Wole Ogunsanya emphasized that adopting new technologies and partnerships, such as those demonstrated by Solewant, remains critical for Nigeria to reach its goal of producing three million barrels of oil per day within the next five years.

As the conference concluded, Solewant Group solidified its status as a globally relevant African brand committed to industrial independence and sustainable growth. The Group extended an invitation to global experts to attend the 10th Africa Energy Summit, scheduled for November 2026 at their industrial park in Rivers State.
