The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria – CIIN officially install Mr. Akinjide Orimolade as its 53rd President and Chairman of Council on Friday in Lagos.

Succeeding Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, Orimolade pledged to steer the organization into a modern era by prioritizing diginstalled vation, expanding public education, and enhancing institutional infrastructure. During his investiture speech, he called on industry members to unite in building a forward-looking profession capable of adapting to global shifts.

Central to Orimolade’s leadership vision is a strategic three-point agenda labeled TEB—standing for Technology, Enforcement, and Building. Under the technology pillar, the institute plans to complete its transition toward hybrid computer-based examinations, eliminating geographic barriers for candidates nationwide. Additionally, the CIIN will launch an InsurTech Learning Hub to train insurance professionals in high-demand, modern disciplines such as artificial intelligence and cyber risk management.

To widen public engagement and strengthen sector adoption, the administration plans to launch the “insureNigeria” awareness campaign. This initiative aims to take foundational insurance education directly into schools and non-insurance professional organizations across the country.

Through targeted outreach, the campaign seeks to demystify coverage options and build a stronger culture of risk management nationwide.

Addressing physical infrastructure, the new administration committed to breaking ground on a permanent secretariat for the institute before the end of Orimolade’s term. To support construction costs, the CIIN will introduce an Annual Secretariat Fundraising Gala designed to mobilize capital and resources from corporate operators, investors, and industry stakeholders.

In her valedictory remarks, immediate past president Mrs. Yetunde Ilori encouraged the incoming executive leadership to fearlessly pursue innovation while holding fast to the institute’s foundational standards.

She emphasized that maintaining uncompromising integrity remains essential for inspiring confidence, reinforcing institutional accountability, and preserving trust across the broader financial sector.
