ABC Transport Plc has officially unveiled its Historic and Archive Centre at its Corporate Head Office in Owerri, Imo State, marking a monumental milestone in its 33-year journey.

Commissioned on Thursday, April 30, 2026, the launch beautifully coincided with the birthday celebration of the company’s visionary Founder, Mr. Frank Nneji – OON. Since its inception on February 13, 1993, the company has transformed from a ambitious regional transporter into a nationally recognized powerhouse, pioneering modern transport, logistics, and customer-focused solutions across Nigeria and the wider West African region.

The newly established centre serves as both a heritage and educational facility, intentionally designed to document, preserve, and showcase the company’s rich evolutionary history. Within its walls lies an extensive collection of historical artifacts, awards, archival documents, video recordings, and photographs from defining corporate moments.

Visitors can explore landmark exhibits featuring memorabilia from the very first ABC coach, the launch of Nigeria’s first ultra-modern transport terminal, and the company’s bold expansion into regional operations through Coach West Africa. It offers a serene environment where researchers, students, and transport enthusiasts can study the evolution of logistics through the lens of ABC’s transformational journey.

The launch highlights a storied history of groundbreaking industry firsts that have redefined road transportation in Nigeria. Over more than three decades, ABC Transport has consistently broken new ground, starting with its pioneer Owerri-to-Lagos route in 1993, followed by the introduction of ABC Cargo Express in 1996 and luxury Sleeper Coaches in 1998.

The company further revolutionized the sector by establishing a Driver Training Academy and electronic ticketing in 2000, commissioning West Africa’s first ultra-modern terminal in Abuja in 2001, and listing on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2006. More recent innovations include the birth of ABC Haulage, a dedicated vehicle assembly line, and a comprehensive corporate rebranding.

The unveiling ceremony was an intimate yet deeply symbolic event, bringing together pioneer employees, alumni staff, current management, strategic partners, and close friends of the organization. Attendees shared fond reflections on the company’s humble beginnings and its enduring impact on Nigeria’s transport sector, alongside a special cake-cutting ceremony honoring the Founder.

The gathering underscored the deep-rooted relationships and collective dedication that have sustained the company’s growth and competitive edge over more than three decades.

Speaking at the unveiling, the Group Managing Director and CEO of ABC Transport Plc, Mr. Jude Nneji, described the center as a strategic investment aimed at preserving institutional memory and inspiring future generations of entrepreneurs.

He emphasized that the facility is a living testament to resilience, vision, and the pioneering spirit, ensuring that the sacrifices and achievements which shaped the company are never forgotten.
